Nearly 30 percent of all forestlands in eastern Washington need treatment to become more resilient to insect infestation, disease and wildfire. The Washington State Department of Natural Resources offers free property assessments to gauge wildfire readiness and teach recommended steps landowners can take to better protect their property.
